General Service Unit butcher stabs colleague to death over customer











A butcher who has been accused of stabbing his fellow butcher to death was allegedly fighting over customers, police have claimed.
 Daniel Mbithi, 28, allegedly stabbed and killed Ali Mohammed, the deceased, on October 7.  According to the prosecution, the accused worked as a butcher along Bypass, opposite the GSU training school, where the deceased also ran a butchery.
 The court heard that on the material day, the two picked a quarrel after a customer came to buy meat, prompting a fight over the customer.
 Police said Mbithi who had a knife in his hand stabbed Mohammed on the chest. The deceased let out a loud cry, claiming saying that Mbithi had stabbed him.
The incident attracted the public.
The deceased was then rushed to hospital, but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival. The police arrested the suspect after carrying out investigations.
Mbithi denied manslaughter charges. He however pleaded with the court for lenient bond terms saying that he was of humble means.
 He was released on a surety bond of Sh500,000.
The case will be heard on March 9, 2017.
