How President Uhuru's son Jomo and fiancée wedded in Gatundu

The much-anticipated Kikuyu traditional wedding between President Uhuru Kenyatta’s son Jomo and his fiancée Fiona Achola in Gatundu over the weekend was full of pomp and colour.
This event set the stage for the young couple’s church wedding to take place next month.
The ceremony, which covered all cultural aspects of a Kikuyu wedding, was an introduction of Fiona and her family to the Kenyatta family and assured her that she had been accepted as a Kenyatta. A joyful Fiona was ushered into the President's Gatundu home by elderly women as she walked hand-in-hand with her fiance Jomo. They both wore African prints, with Fiona topping her beautiful dress with a traditional dress, head gear and necklace.Traditional dancers drummed specially selected marriage songs as they ushered Fiona to the house; they stood on each side of the entrance in another symbolic show that she had been officially ushered home
