- After Nairobi, ODM's stronghold, Kisumu
county, has the highest number of anomalies
On Tuesday, January 24, it was reported
that over 128,000 voters share Identification details in the ongoing mass voter
registration exercise being carried out by the Independent Electoral and
Boundaries Commission.
A voter having her
details recorded ahead of the August 2017 General Election.
This figure has been broken down to show
which counties lead with the highest number of voter registration anomalies.
According to IEBC data, Nairobi, Kisumu and
Kiambu counties lead in cases of shared ID numbers.
There are 7,441 cases of shared ID details
in Nairobi, and 3,946 cases in Kisumu. Kiambu county recorded 3,500 anomalies.

Chebukati confirmed that there was massive voter registration anomalies and
they are cleaning up the records before the election.
According to the Star today, Monday,
February 6, other counties that follow include Kakamega with 3,481, Siaya with
3,307 and Meru with 3,289 anomalies.
“The list includes 21,149 records that bear
the same ID numbers and same names, and 57,603 records whose ID numbers did not
match the National Registration Bureau records we had submitted for
verification,” said Ezra Chiloba, the CEO at IEBC.
Voters who will have verifies that they are
among those with shared details have been given 10 days to verify and correct
their records to avoid the risk of being deleted from the register.
Raila and Kalonzo
discovered that their ID numbers had been used to register other voters.
Chiloba, however, promised that the process
of cleaning up the voter register will continue even after the registration
deadline is up.
This information was highlighted two weeks
ago when CORD leader Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka discovered that their ID
numbers had been used to register other people.
