Tuesday night, President Obama delivered his farewell address to the American people. In the speech, Obama encouraged Americans to adopt “a sense of solidarity — the idea that for all our outward differences, we are all in this together.”
He then spoke of his wife and the pride he has for his daughters. President Obama said,”Under the strangest of circumstances you have become two amazing young women. You are smart and you are beautiful. But more importantly, you are kind and you are thoughtful and you are full of passion.”
Obama added,”And, you wore the burden of years in the spotlight so easily. Of all that I have done in my life, I am most proud to be your dad.”
As Malia Obama, now 18-years-old, sat next to her mother, the First Lady, they teared up while listening to Obama’s kind words. After the speech, the family joined President Obama on the stage to wave to the audience. While on stage, the internet took note that one family member was missing from the grand farewell, Sasha Obama.
