Here is how Nairobi is making Kenyan history today, December 31, 2016



-Everyone is counting down hours to the new year 2017

-While 2017 will be pivotal in the history of Kenya, some are looking to bid goodbye to 2016 in an extraordinary way.

-The City’s tallest building will host a historic event today

33 Storey UAP old mutual tower is set to make history on Saturday, December 31 by being bthe first skyscraper to hold a live countdown of the new year

The tower, which is the tallest building in Nairobi, will host the live countdown while having 2017 colorfully inscribed on it.

Lighting is also expected to be an out-of-the-world experience as the entire 33 storeys are expected to be well and adequately lit.

The building’s CEO confirmed the rare spectacle, while urging those in Nairobi to be part of the experience by turning out to see for themselves.





 “For the first time in Kenya, UAP Towers will light up four corners of Nairobi with colour and hope in the New Year.” She was quoted.

Jamhuri day also saw another special sight as the UAP building was illuminated by Kenyan flag colors to usher in a sense of patriotism.

Omondi takes us back to when there was no better African movie than Sarafina and he does it hilariously as the starring.

Sarafina (Leleti Khumalo) is a young black South African struggling for freedom during the apartheid. She is struggling to make the language Afrikaans the official language in her schools. Things get nasty when her teacher is arrested triggering street protests which become fatal.
