- Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has been a strong critic of the Jubilee government

Mombasa
Governor Hassan Joho is increasingly becoming a popular figure in the
Kenyan political scene thanks to his hard criticism of the Jubilee
regime.
Hassan Joho
The Orange Democratic Party deputy party leader is a strong opposition leader Raila Odinga supporter, and has been in collision with the government over his hardliner tendencies. His father, Mzee Ali Joho, has now spoken about his son, his style of politics and perhaps what many did not know about him.
Mzee Joho says that his son is a very fierce character and he inherited this from his late mother.
As a father, he always tries to cool him down and reminds him that he is a politician and a public figure.
"Ukali anao, lakini mimi najaribu kumcool namwambia usifanye ukali, si
vizuri. Wewe ni mwanasiasa (He is strict, fierce, but I always try to
cool him down and tell him to be calm. You are a politician)," Mzee Joho
told Citizen TV.
Perhaps this explains why the governor almost came to blows with Nairobi
Senator Mike Sonko a year ago when President Uhuru Kenyatta was on a
month long stay in Mombasa.
Hassan Joho with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Sonko had taken issue with Joho's continued criticism of the Jubilee
government and abused the governor in the presence of Uhuru and Ruto.
