Hired youth who cheered Ruto protest after MP fails to pay them

A group of hired youth who cheered DP Ruto during a tour in Western Kenya take to the streets after they fail to be paid for the services
They took twigs and went to streets on Saturday, December 3 demanding to be paid their dues for 'cheering' Deputy President William Ruto.
The more than 200 youth said they were promised KSh 3,000 each to give Ruto a rousing welcome but that they have been shortchanged.
The Star reports that the youth claim Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali had given that promise but he has not fulfilled it so far.
The youth were angry that after they were invited to cheer Ruto during a fundraising on Friday, December 2, they were only offered KSh 200 each.
"We were promised that if mheshimiwa Ruto came and we offered him a warm welcome, we should be given the money. Now he has come and we have been given KSh 200 only," one of the youth, Evans Misao is quoted by the Star.
The young men claimed they spent the entire day at the event only to get very meager earnings.
