Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho set to graduate from a UK university days after he was called an academic dwarf

A few weeks ago, Deputy President William Ruto was embroiled in a tug of war with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho over coast politics.

Ruto who was visiting the region to sell the Jubilee agenda attacked Joho's academic credentials and labelled him an academic dwarf.

His statement was apparently drawn from the fact that the governor's academic qualifications have been questioned for the longest time.

For one to vie for governor in Kenya, they must have at least a university degree.

Joho is set to graduate.

However, Joho is set to graduate from the UK's Gretsa University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

This is set to set his academic records straight as he seeks to retain his seat in the coming 2017 election.

Joho's academic credentials were the reason why his opponents went to court to demand that he be removed as he did not meet requirements.

Joho scored a second class lower.

However, the court ruled that Joho got a degree from a Ugandan university.
